My book-pt 2

My book so far is still a bit confusing. I'm looking for ways to relate it to the short story we read it class but I can't see any ways of tying the two together. Maybe after a few more chapters I'll begin to understand more of what the book's point is and why it was written and then I can relate them. As far as any comparisions to anything other books or stories I've read, I can't see any thus far. By the end of this week I'd like to be at least three quarters of the way done with it and begin bringing all of the information together to understand it all.
